What is well-being? Does it mean searching your soul to its very depths in order to find meaning and contentment with the present moment? The answer is yes… and no.

One thing is certain, well-being is different than simple pleasure. Understanding the psychology of well-being can have an important influence on your overall health, satisfaction with life, personal growth, and interpersonal relationships.

Dr Eve Blouin-Hudon is a university instructor at Carleton University in the department of Psychology, where she teaches courses on creativity, play, and innovation. She is also the founder of Bevy Creative and also co-owns Music Art People.

Brown Bag Lunches are Impact Hub Ottawa’s weekly lunch & learns led by Hubbers, for members and non-members alike. Topics vary each week, but you’re always sure to learn something new!
