Wedad Amiri

Wedad Amiri is the founder and CEO of Afflatus Hijab, a clothing company based in Edmonton, Alberta. She designs modern, modest, stylish pieces suitable for those with religious or other dress codes. As a previous community worker focused on talking about mental health and wellness with youth, Wedad uses her platform to continue educating others about mental wellbeing. She notably launched a campaign featuring clothing items named after women who have had mental health issues, and has donated a percentage of sales at certain events to the Canadian Mental Health Association. She’s also using her company to change the narrative about women’s empowerment, naming pieces after strong women.
