Zab Maboungou

Zab Maboungou is the founder of Compagnie Danse Nyata Nyata, a contemporary dance company and teaching institution based in Montreal. Since 1988, Zab has choreographed and performed numerous award winning solo and group performances. An outspoken advocate for dance and the performing arts of Africa, Zab has gained national recognition for her contribution to Canadian and diaspora culture. In 2019 she was named to L’Ordre des arts et des lettres du Québec.
