Brandi Leifso is the CEO of Evio Beauty Group, a cosmetics company she founded while seeking refuge from an abusive relationship in a women’s shelter. To focus on a productive distraction she bootstrapped the venture, learning how to create her website from the shelter and relying on pre-sales to fund her line of environmentally-friendly products. Today, Brandi is backed by a venture capital firm and has partnered with Aurora Cannabis to create a cannabis-infused skincare line. Brandi hopes to have turned her struggles into an opportunity for women to feel empowered by their positive choices, no matter how small, by creating a product that is good for skin and for the planet.
