Lorin MacDonald

Lorin MacDonald is a leading lawyer, advocate and entrepreneur forging new pathways for people of all abilities everywhere. Born with profound hearing loss, MacDonald encountered numerous barriers on both a professional and personal level. She persevered through these challenges to now champion on behalf of others experiencing accessibility barriers. In 2019, MacDonald started HearVue, a women-led social enterprise improving communication accessibility for events and content through captioning. For decades, MacDonald has educated thousands in the broader disability and legal communities on how to make the world a better and more accessible place to live. MacDonald was the first to introduce captioning in universities, the judicial system, professional associations, and cultural venues for live theatre.
