Détails

Entrepreneurship drives economic development and job creation, and nowhere is this more evident than in Indigenous communities, where women entrepreneurship is growing. Many successful Indigenous-women businesses are operating across all sectors and regions. At the same time, Indigenous women face system disadvantages such as access to services, financing, information and basic infrastructure, including broadband. And these barriers are felt more heavily amid a global pandemic.

On Thursday, December 10 the Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH) and Canadian Council of Aboriginal Business (CCAB) will release Indigenous Women Entrepreneurs, a new report that uses a gender perspective to explore the profile of women-owned Indigenous businesses and takes a preliminary look at their unique approaches to innovation and their use of traditional knowledge.

Join us to hear highlights from the report, followed by a frank and lively panel discussion.
