Gender Diversity of Boards of Directors of Canadian ICT Companies: Where we are – Why it matters – Overcoming the challenges

The gender diversity of corporate Boards of Directors has been a widely discussed issue for the past several decades. There has been progress, but it has been slow. Some governments have proposed or implemented legislation to close the gap. This review was undertaken in order to understand better the dynamics of the gender diversity board debate in the Canadian ICT sector. The review consisted of a brief survey of the literature on the subject and interviews with over 20 stakeholders, including CEOs, board members, corporate counsel, entrepreneurs, and others with an interest in the topic.
