When Sonja’s father was diagnosed with ALS, Alicia and Sonja moved back home to be nearby. Impressed by the Port Rexton landscape and with a growing interest in craft beer, they decided to leave their careers behind them to open a craft brewery. They noted that there was local interest in the product, which along with seasonal tourism would make for an ideal venture. The business has been well-received, recently attracting federal funding to expand and modernize their operations which is expected to create two additional jobs in the small community.
