Ariel Garten is the founder of InteraXon, a company that specializes in developing brain-sensing technology. She is the creator of Muse, an award-winning headband that is designed to help make meditation easier. The device senses brain activity during guided exercises and provides real-time audio feedback through a phone or tablet application. Ariel has an education in neuroscience from the University of Toronto, where she worked on research in Parkinson’s disease and hippocampal neurogenesis. She co-founded InteraXon in 2009, which debuted with the “Bright Ideas”, a feature showcase of Ontario at the 2010 Winter Olympics, allowing visitors to control the lights on the CN Tower, Niagara Falls, and the Canadian Parliament buildings with their minds from across the country. Ariel and Muse have been covered by multiple global media outlets,and she regularly keynotes on the topic of technology, mindfulness, and entrepreneurship.
