Asmaa Ibnouzahir

After a ten-year struggle, Asmaa Ibnouzahir finally learned to accept her Quebec values as an integral part of her identity and faith. Today she confidently defines herself as a woman who is Quebecoise, Moroccan, Muslim, and free. In 2017, Ibnouzahir founded Institut F to help make the journey to self-acceptance easier for other Muslim girls and women in Quebec while also building up their leadership skills. Ibnouzahir is a passionate spokeswoman widely recognized for her views on justice and equality and fiercely committed to defending the rights of Muslim women in various communities. Ibnouzahir has also made several public appearances in mainstream Quebec media and continues to remain engaged as an active member of various international groups of feminist reformers.
