Bethany Deshpande

Bethany Deshpande is the CEO of SomaDetect, a Fredericton-based agricultural company using sensor technology to provide dairy farmers with data on milk quality and animal health. Deshpande is a highly-motivated and curious scientist with a cutting-edge vision to raise the bar within the dairy industry. She now has a team of twenty-six people with offices in Canada and the United States. Over the years, Deshpande has been responsible for the successful fundraising of more than five million dollars of grants, loans, and investments. Most recently, in 2020, SomaDetect received $3.9 million from Sustainable Technology Canada. Within that same year, Desphande was featured in Atlantic Business Magazine.
