Dominique O’Bonsawin

Dominique O’Bonsawin is the artist and owner of cedarlilie, an online shop that sells beadwork and craft supplies. Dominique is Abenaki and French-Canadian. She learned beadwork as a way to connect with her Indigenous community, culture, and language, having not learned it growing up. She refers to beadwork as her passion that started as a hobby and has now turned into a successful one-woman operation. In addition, Dominique is a full-time Bachelor of Education student at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario. She learned beadwork when she began university, learning from other Indigenous students in her school. In 2021, Dominique represented cedarlilie as a semi-finalist in the Ontario Pow Wow Pitch.
