Julie Angus

Julie Angus

Julie wears many hats: scientist, adventurer, boat designer, and entrepreneur. The first woman to row across the Atlantic Ocean from mainland to mainland, her intensely curious nature has led her on many adventures, including into the world of business. She is the co-founder of Open Ocean Robotics, a marine tech company with the goal of helping to protect oceans and offer solutions to maritime challenges. The company develops autonomous marine robots – uncrewed boats – fully equipped with sensors, cameras and communication devices to collect data and instantly relay it back to shore. Julie is also the co-founder of Angus Rowboats, a company providing robotically-cut kits for a variety of human-powered craft and sailboats.
