Modeste Zankpe

Modeste Zankpe is an Afro-Indigenous artist and entrepreneur in Calgary, Alberta. She is the owner of Monday May Jewelry, which makes heirloom pieces that incorporate culture and sustainability. Modeste’s jewelry is inspired by her Ewe and Secwépemc roots. She launched Monday May Jewelry in 2021 as a way of staying on top of her mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the sudden onset of an autoimmune disorder. In 2021, Monday May Jewelry was a semi-finalist in the British Columbia Pow Wow Pitch. Outside of her business, Modeste Zankpe is invested in studying and teaching low-barrier entrepreneurship that advances equity, diversity, and inclusion.
