Monique Simair is the founder and CEO of Maven Water & Environment, a high-growth enviro-tech company. She is a biogeochemist with a disciplined passion for building things unconventionally. Without formal business training, she took a unique approach to view businesses as evolving biological organisms in a state of nature where they must grow to succeed. Based on this unconventional strategic approach, Monique has championed several international biotechnology firsts, especially in the water treatment, mining, and mineral sectors. She has been named by Profit Magazine as one of Canada’s future entrepreneurial leaders, Chatelaine’s W100 women entrepreneurs, and the University of Saskatchewan Alumni of Influence. Monique was the youngest person appointed as an advisor to Canada’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Council. Her former company (Contango Strategies) was purchased by a publicly traded company. She is a recipient of the 2022 ABEX Growth & Expansion Award, awarded by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce.
