Every handmade olive oil soap of Sitti Social Enterprise carries the stories of its employees, who are skilled refugees from Jordan. The company’s co-founder is Noora Sharrab, who built Sitti toto employ, educate, and empower refugee communities by providing them with fair-wage opportunities. Noora’s own motivation behind her business stems from her ancestral Jordanian roots, along with a deep connection she feels with the women of Jerash “Gaza” Refugee Camp in Jordan. She is highly educated, having earned a Master of Arts in Political Science with a specialization certificate in Forced Migration and Refugee Studies from York University. Her work at Sitti earned her a BMO Celebrating Women Grant in 2021, and she is the co-founder and regional director of an international NGO called Hopes for Women in Education.
