Shayla Oulette Stonechild

Shayla Oulette Stonechild is the founder of the Matriarch Movement, a non-profit organization dedicated to amplifying Indigenous voices through storytelling, meditation, movement, and medicine. She is a Nehiyaw Iskwew (Plains Cree woman) from Muscowpetung First Nation, and she has committed her career to Indigenous advocacy, especially through media. Shayla is currently the host of Red Earth Uncovered on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network. She has established a large social media presence with over 100,000 followers on Instagram, where she publishes posts about Indigenous culture, history, and her own lived experiences. In 2021, she represented the Matriarch Movement as a semi-finalist in the British Columbia Pow Wow Pitch.
