Valérie Laliberté

Valérie Laliberté is the co-founder of Tero, a food recycler that transforms organic matter into fertilizer. She and her colleague Elizabeth Coulombe created Tero during a graduation project at Laval University. The idea was born out of a lack of compost collection services in Québec City, which led to the development of Tero technology to tackle this pressing environmental problem. Since its creation, Tero has experienced rapid growth and success, with thousands of devices sold and a successful crowdfunding campaign that raised over $1,750,000 in less than a month. Valérie holds several bachelor’s degrees from Laval University in mathematics, graphic design, and product design. She played an instrumental role in making Tero a reality and continues to work with the company to make it a sustainable and successful business. Tero was awarded the prestigious Pierre-Péladeau Scholarship, a recognition for start-ups founded by young and talented Québec student entrepreneurs.
