        Canada-wide | Partout au Canada

Hi all, happy Friday. I’m leading a project at the Brookfield Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, a non-partisan economic think tank at Ryerson University.

We are exploring the high-growth journeys of companies founded, owned or run by women, men and gender-diverse individuals as part of a project under the Government of Canada-funded Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub (WEKH). The information gathered from this study will provide valuable insights so that governments, business support organizations, funders and other players in the entrepreneurship ecosystem can better support entrepreneurs as we move past this pandemic.

We are interested in learning about the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs as they scale, defined as having:
Experienced 20% or greater revenue growth per annum over a 3-year period (within the past 5 years), with 10 or more employees at the start of that 3-year high-growth period

We are looking for people who might like to participate in the research as well as help spreading the word. We recognize how busy you are, and greatly value your consideration of this opportunity to contribute to this study. The outcome will be a report used to inform government, funders, and other entrepreneurial support organizations about how best to support companies in their journeys to scale in the future. We will be happy to share a copy of the report with you upon completion, tentatively called “Scaling Women-Founded Firms: Exploring Women Entrepreneurs’ High-Growth Journeys.”

ASK: Please help spread the word about our study amongst your network. I’ve included sample language you can use for emails below, and you can find additional messaging on our social media accounts on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. If there is additional content you need to support your outreach just let me know.

For more information, visit our project page linked to this post or feel free to email your questions to me at meghan.hellstern@ryerson.ca. Your support is greatly appreciated. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or want to discuss further! Have a great weekend.

        Kind regards,
        Meghan
