Hello, I am Laura Dowding, Director of Entrepreneurship & Program Development with ACCES Employment. We are interested in joining a collective of organizations to respond to the WES Ecosystem Fund call and expand support for women entrepreneurs.
ACCES has over 35 years of experience helping business owners find skilled talent and 8+ years of experience supporting newcomer entrepreneurs through our Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)-funded Entrepreneurship Connections program, delivered in partnership with the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). Since then, we have expanded to national delivery, added a pre-arrival stream in 2019, and developed bootcamps and mentorship supports tailored to the unique needs of women entrepreneurs.
We sit on the leadership table of the BMO Financial – United Way Greater Toronto Inclusive Local Economic Opportunity (ILEO) initiative with a leading role in its Storefront Starter pilot serving BIPOC and women entrepreneurs, and bring years of experience partnering with service providers and business leaders across the country. You can learn more about our programs at https://accesemployment.ca/start-a-business
If you are interested in exploring partnership opportunities, please email me at ldowding@accesemployment.ca
