Alissa Assu

Alissa Assu is the owner of West Coast Wildflowers, an Indigenous lifestyle boutique that sells local products from Vancouver, BC. West Coast Wildflowers uses its e-commerce platform to sell products from Indigenous small businesses, as well as women-owned businesses. Alissa is part of the Laksamshu (Fireweed and Owl) Clan from the Wet’suwet’en First Nation People located in Witset, British Columbia. Alissa says that her business is one of the most powerful connections she has to her Indigenous roots. Her aim is to showcase her culture and share it with the new generations of the Indigenous youth. She also owns and operates Bear Essential Oils, which is the sister company of West Coast Wildflowers. West Coast Wildflowers was a semi-finalist in the British Columbia Pow Wow Pitch in 2021, and Bear Essential Oils was a semi-finalist in 2022.
