Andressa Lacerda

Andressa Lacerda is the co-founder of Noblegen, a biotech startup that uses microorganisms to produce proteins and oils for the food industry with technology. Andressa earned a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology and saw the potential in her co-founder’s project, eventually collaborating and sharing lab space. Noblegen develops microorganisms that are non-gmo and produce virtually no waste in order to extract proteins for use in commercial products, including protein shakes, meat analogs, and egg replacements as well as oils. As consumers become more conscious of the environmental impact of their food, Noblegen is stepping in with the mission of changing the way that conventionally unsustainable foods are sourced.
