Dr. Anne Martel

Dr. Anne Martel is a leading scientist and co-founder of Pathcore, a digital pathology software company. She founded Pathcore in 2016 in response to the current issues she was seeing with medical imaging equipment. After receiving $4 million from the Ontario Institute of Cancer Research (OICR), Martel created the latest technology that makes it possible for physicians and radiologists to detect cancer earlier and with greater accuracy. Currently, Martel serves as a Professor in Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto and a Senior Scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute. Martel is also an active member of the medical image analysis community and a committed board member, and a fellow of the MICCAI (Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Interventions) Society.
