Azadeh Dastmalchi

Azadeh Dastmalchi, CEO of VitalTracer, first came up with the idea of creating a medical-grade smartwatch device out of her desire to help her late father, Kazem, monitor his hypertension. VitalTracer uses biosensors and machine-learning algorithms to measure blood pressure, respiratory rate, blood oxygen levels, body temperature and the heart’s electrical signals. The VTLab Smartwatch was also built to detect symptoms of illness early on. To date, Dastmalchi has accumulated more than a million dollars in research funding, and her VTLab smartwatch is hailed for its potential to predict and monitor COVID-19. Dastmalchi is an extraordinary innovator continually working alongside doctors to provide effective home-care monitoring. In 2020, she participated in the Canadian G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance Summit.
