Cathy Balatti

In 2014, Cathy Balatti opened the doors to Beyond the Bell Out of School Care for the first time. Within four months, the BC-based childcare program was already operating at 100% capacity with a growing waitlist. Since then, Balatti has served children, families and community members for over 25 years with quality childcare programming that supports the healthy development of children and ensures a fun environment for the caregivers. Balatti believes that Indigenous pedagogy is integral to create and sustain safe learning and care environments for children that honour cultures and instill strong identities. For her commitment to excellence, she was selected for the 2017 BC Aboriginal Business “Outstanding Business Achievement” Award.
