Charla Smeall

Chandra and Charla are the co-founders of Third + Bird, Winnipeg’s largest urban market. An artist herself, Chandra first had the idea to host a Christmas market in 2008 to give local artisans a place to showcase their work while donating the admission proceeds to charitable causes. They ran the Christmas market for 6 years before founding Third + Bird, a biannual market mixing a fun retail experience, philanthropy, and sustainability to create an atmosphere that allows local vendors to flourish. They have been recognized for their contributions to the local tourism industry and have since expanded their curated market to Saskatoon.
