Deanna Guttman is the owner of Needles in the Hay, a yarn store located in downtown Peterborough, Ontario. She purchased the business from its founder, Bridget Allin, in 2016. The shop, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020, specializes in providing high-quality natural fibers in a variety of colors for fiber arts enthusiasts. Deanna and her staff work hard to find and offer the best selection of yarns at various price points. They have a special passion for wool but also carry a wide variety of other fibers such as alpaca, silk, linen, and yak. The shop also provides support in building the community around the fiber arts in Peterborough. It offers weekly “Knit Doctor” and “Crochet Doctor” sessions for knitting and crocheting support that are open to everyone. Deanna is a recipient of the Businesswomen of the Year, awarded by the Peterborough Business Excellence Awards.
