Edna Nabess

Edna Nabess

When she was just 11 years old, Edna started her first business fileting fish for tourists with the guidance and support of her grandmother. As her grandmother taught her, Edna passed down her knowledge to her children. She started her first adult business making moccasins, opening White Feather Creations which her oldest son still runs. She later opened Cree-Ations, selling her moccasins as well as the wares of other local artists. Her store is now owned by her son, while she is the principal fashion designer. Passing her businesses on to her children has allowed Edna more time to engage with her 5 children and 12 grandchildren as well as her community, which she has run to serve as a political candidate.
