Dr. Julia Levy is a highly accomplished biotechnology leader with a track record of success in drug development. She founded Novelion Therapeutics and held several senior positions at QLT Inc., including Chief Scientific Officer, Vice President, President and CEO, and Director. Under her leadership, QLT recorded strong growth and earned a reputation for achieving milestones, including the FDA approval for Visudyne® therapy to treat age-related blindness. Dr. Levy has a Doctorate in Immunology from the University of London and holds an industrial professorship in the Department of Microbiology from the University of British Columbia. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and former President of the Canadian Federation of Biological Sciences. She has received numerous awards and honors, including an appointment as an Officer of the Order of Canada, Female Entrepreneur of the Year for International Business, Pacific Canada Entrepreneur of the Year, and the Future of Vision Award from the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
