Kate Pepler

After learning about the negative effects of waste to our planet, Kate Pepler was compelled to take action. While in university, Pepler started an initiative called Our Positive Planet, an educational platform that highlights environmental success stories from around the world. In 2018, Pepler started The Tare Shop out of her growing desire to contribute more to the zero-waste movement. The Tare Shop provides alternative solutions to the over-packaged consumer lifestyle and encourages more sustainable living. It is the first of its kind in Halifax. Pepler is a power-house climate change activist, who is hopeful about inspiring others to make the world a better place through positive environmental changes.
