Kim Ruse

Kim Ruse is the CEO and founder of FearIsNotLove, formerly known as the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter. Since 2014, Kim has run her organization as a values-based non-profit for victims of family violence. She has plans to expand the organization, currently overseeing a staff of over 120 people. FearIsNotLove’s programs are advised by a group of experts in family therapy and research, who encourage a response based approach that is uniquely tailored towards victims, including children and youth. The organization uses research and the lived experience of family violence to identify causes and implement change on both individual and societal levels. For her work in FearIsNotLove, Kim was recognized with the Social Enterprise Award at the Calgary Influential Women in Business Awards in 2022.
