Kim Wiseman is the founder of Kanel Spices, a gourmet spice company that specializes in easy-to-use spice blends and sea salts. The company opened its first retail location in Montréal in 2018, offering a range of blends such as Summer Black Truffle Salt, Smoked Chorizo Rub, and their most popular blend, Sweet & Smoky Salmon. Kim came up with the concept of Kanel Spices while raising her two kids and noticed a lack of taste, freshness, and overuse of fillers in the average spice blend. The company opened its first physical location at CF Carrefour Laval in November 2018, which mimics the design of the product packaging and allows customers to experience the blends. The company expanded to new locations in Québec and Eastern Ontario in 2019, with a focus on high-traffic malls and specialty grocery stores. Kim is a recipient of the 2022 Business #StandWithOthers Prize awarded by Telus.
