Laura Asham

Laura Asham is the Founder of award-winning company Asham Creations, which designs and sells Indigenous puppet sets that are used for educational purposes. Laura had always been creative, beading since the age of seven after learning from her mother and sister. In 2008, her entrepreneurial spirit shone through as she began designing beadwork projects as a part-time business while completing her education in social work. Laura’s idea for Asham Creations was inspired in 2010, when Laura’s daughter was entering a princess pageant at her school and required a talent to compete. Laura saw an opportunity and started selling her puppet sets to schools across First Nations in Alberta, and her newfound hobby morphed into, what is now Asham Creations.
