Lori Kennedy

Lori Kennedy

After the collapse of the northern cod stocks left Lori Kennedy unemployed, she decided to go into business for herself. The rest is history. Today, Kennedy is the co-owner of Louisbourg Seafoods Ltd., a multi-million seafood business based in Nova Scotia. The seafood company now has more than 500 employees, 13 fishing vessels, and several fish plants. It also employs three of the Kennedy children. In 2019, Kennedy and her husband were inducted into the Cape Breton Business and Philanthropy Hall of Fame. She is also a member of the Women’s Presidents Organization – Atlantic Chapter. Kennedy participates in countless international trade missions, panels, and speaking engagements to promote greater understanding and awareness of the east coast fishery of Atlantic Canada.
