Maria Rey

Maria Rey is the Co-founder, Vice President, and Chief Science Officer at Space Strategies Consulting Ltd. (SSCL), an Ottawa-based company that offers consultancy services relating to civil, commercial and national security challenges in the air and space sectors. In 2019, SSCL was awarded a contract under the Department of National Defence’s Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program. Ms. Rey has over 30 years of experience in space-based remote sensing technologies. She retired from the Canadian Government in 2014 as the former Director General, Science and Technology (S&T) for Joint Force Development within Defence Research and Development Canada, the research branch of DND.
