Mélissa Deschênes

Mélissa Deschênes is a co-founder and creative director of Design de Plume Inc, an inclusive, women-led, Indigenous-owned design team that creates inclusive and accessible designs for social good. Design de Plume, founded in 2009 by three women, is based in Sudbury, Ontario, and has clients across Canada and the United States, offering services such as branding, layout design, and web design. Mélissa is a queer-francophone Creative Director who is passionate about 2SLGBTQ+, gender equity, and inclusiveness. With expertise in the management of creative staff, conceptualization, campaign strategy, and shaping brand standards, she specializes in creating inspiring and informative visuals that effectively tell complex stories. Mélissa volunteers as a mentor for the ‘programme mentoratSÉO de la Société Économique de l’Ontario’ and as a past mentor for the Regional Business Center for the startup program. She is a recipient of the 2022 SoGood Design Award.
