Michelle Tasa

Michelle Tasa is a passionate educator that understands the importance of children developing creativity, problem-solving, and resilience. She has taught in diverse school environments, beginning her teaching career as a small-town teacher in Northern Saskatchewan to spending 5-years teaching abroad in China. Then, in early 2020 the pandemic struck. She found herself locked down in Shanghai, during which her husband passed away. Michelle returned home to Calgary several months later where she was diagnosed with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Dreading to return to full-time teaching in the public education system, she knew she would have to get creative again to provide for her family. She started Artpourings Studio which focuses on events, workshops, and corporate clients looking to foster creativity and well-being. Michelle says entrepreneurship has been an important journey that allows her to engage in employment while still prioritizing her mental health and hopes to destigmatize mental illness amongst business professionals.
