Mikayla A. Wujec

Mikayla Wujec co-founded alder apparel in Toronto, Canada after feeling frustrated with the lack of good outdoor clothing options for women. They offer inclusive sizes, community-inspired designs, sustainable and ethical production, and a fun brand that stands out from the typical performance-driven, hardcore athletic brands in the outdoor market. Both Wujec and Blackman have worked in retail and have a passion for customer service and helping people find products that will improve their everyday lives. They both decided to become entrepreneurs because they wanted to be part of building something from the ground up and because they believe in the purpose of alder. Wujec’s proudest accomplishment is starting the non-profit Riparia, which runs free canoe-camping trips and day camps for young women aged 13-18 to foster a love for science, learning, and fresh waters.
