Jade Herrmann is a Vancouver-based entrepreneur and founder of Yoggu! – a plant-based “alt-yogurt” brand. Her journey toward creating a healthy, delicious, and vegan yogurt alternative began nearly five years ago. She struggled to find a plant-based alternative that had the same texture and taste as traditional dairy yogurt. The yogurts she had enjoyed while living in Europe led her to experiment with cracking coconuts in her kitchen. Yoggu! is made with organic coconut cream, which is not commonly used in the plant-based dairy industry. Jade’s philosophy is to create a dairy yogurt alternative that retains the taste and nutritional benefits without additives that are often used in other plant-based alternatives. Her efforts have been recognized by the industry, with Yoggu! being awarded Woman Entrepreneur of the Year at the BC Food and Beverage awards. Recently, the company moved into a manufacturing plant to make their products more accessible.
