Murielle Bien-Aimé is the founder of Québec company Komando, a clothing company that makes boxers for women. Komando makes boxers for women that are crafted locally, ethically, and eco-responsibly. Murielle draws inspiration from her own experience with women’s clothing, where she never felt comfortable with traditional women’s undergarments. Komando seeks to represent people who identify as women, but do not conform to gender norms in fashion. In addition to the women’s boxers, the brand makes gender-neutral streetwear attire designed to empower people and encourage them to express themselves freely. According to Murielle, “freedom is the ultimate luxury.” She was recognized as the Emerging Black Entrepreneur in the 2022 RBC Rock My Start-Up Awards.
