Nancie Ferron

Nancie Ferron is a perfumer and entrepreneur who, along with her spouse, Daniel Joannette, started a lavender farm and manufacturing business called La Maison Lavande in Saint-Eustache, Québec. The idea for the farm came about in 2006 while the couple was on holiday in France and saw a field of lavender in bloom. Nancie, who had previously worked in perfumery and had always wanted to return to the field, collaborated with chemists to develop a line of 30 lavender-based products, including cosmetics and home fragrances. From the start, the business included an agritourism component and opened to the public in 2009 with 30,000 lavender plants. Ferron relied on television advertising to establish the brand, and the products quickly gained popularity, being sold in 100 stores. The business has grown over the years, now with 100,000 plants, 50 to 65 employees, 110 different products, and 5 physical store locations.
