Nancy Peterson developed the business concept for Homestars after pursuing a home improvement project, where she found it difficult to find reputable contractors. Nancy pioneered the transition from word-of-mouth reviews to the digital space. HomeStars is now a leading digital marketplace connecting homeowners and home improvement companies across Canada, complete with customer reviews to ensure transparency and accountability. A mentor and advocate for women in business leadership, Nancy promoted two women in senior executive positions to co-lead the company when she stepped down as CEO in 2020.
