As a Business Strategist, Coach, and former Business Broker, one of the main challenges I’ve seen for small business owners who work IN the business, is that it’s hard to always see the big picture and work ON it. Much like reading a label on a bottle from inside the bottle.

That’s how I felt. It was 5+ years after I opened my first business that I closed. And only then did I have this big picture discussion with a business broker, about me. I was humbled. But it was like a lightbulb went off, and I saw things so much more clearly. It all made sense and I wished someone had shared this conversation with me much earlier. It would have given me another perspective, one that I needed to see before I stumbled. Lessons learned.
