Ajibola (Jibs) Abitoye

Ajibola (Jibs) Abitoye started Divineity Fashion in 2019 as a way to give back to the women of her community. Through Divineity Fashion, Abitoye works to empower women in Africa through employment, training and mentorship programs. The clothes she sells are produced entirely in Nigeria. Just three months after launching, Abitoye showcased her collection at the prestigious New York Fashion Week. Her latest initiative, Turning Point Entrepreneurship Mentorship program, aims to mentor 45 marginalized domestic violence survivors interested in fashion. Two years before starting her business, Abitoye was elected as city councillor for the City of Fort Saskatchewan. In 2020, Abitoye was named as one of the RBC’s Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award winners.
