Andrea Zackary

Andrea Zackary started to lose her hearing around the age of 6, and when she suddenly became completely deaf at 25 she lost her job. She pursued training as a Personal Support Worker within the Deaf community, which led to her launching DEF EVENTS & BEYOND. Combining her background in hospitality with her passion to unite the community, Andrea has hosted numerous community events to bring together Deaf/Hard of hearing as well as hearing in an ASL-friendly social atmosphere. Andrea has been met with success, winning the Young Professional of the year award by CTV in 2018, Brampton Board of trade’s Top 40 Under 40, and the City of Brampton Accessibility Award in Business Award.
