Ashley Sanipass

Ashley Sanipass is the CEO of Mi’kmaq Art Experience, an Indigenous art shop in New Brunswick. Ashley is from the Mi’kmaq First Nation in Indian Island, New Brunswick. Her business showcases different forms of Mi’kmaq cultural art which she learned from her grandmother and aunts, such as basket weaving, porcupine quill art, and beading. Mi’kmaq Art Experience offers do-it-yourself kits that teach Mi’kmaq art and language through directions and online videos. Ashley has a passion for teaching art from her culture, having taught at high schools, heritage parks, universities, First Nations organizations, and corrections facilities. In 2021, Ashley’s business was a semi-finalist in the Atlantic Pow Wow Pitch.
