Carla Halvorsen

Port Alberni, BC is home to Action Packed Charters, a water taxi company that is owned and operated by Carla Halvorsen. As a member of the Uchucklesaht Tribe, Carla grew up in the isolated Village of Ehthlateese, which is an hour’s boat ride down the Alberni Canal. Carla has spent her entire life relying on boats and float planes as her primary mode of transportation, meaning she is an expert on boats and the safety aspects of marine weather. Action Packed Charters offers 2 boats: one boat for fishing and the other for cruising and travelling. Action Packed Charters won the award for Best New Business at the NEDC 2017 Aboriginal Business Awards. Carla bases her business’s success on the people she meets, the stories they tell, and the joy of creating charters for her customers.
