Emily O’Brien

Emily O’Brien started Comeback Snacks, a gourmet popcorn company when she was serving time in federal prison. The idea first popped into her head after observing other women inmates make their own popcorn recipes. Since then, O’Brien has bounced back with an empowering mission – She’s using her social enterprise to also provide reintegration opportunities for the formerly incarcerated. To date, Comeback Snacks ship out all across North America and are now available in 30 retail stores. Over the years, O’Brien and Comeback Snacks have been featured in several leading media outlets, including Global News, The Toronto Star, Waterloo Chronicle, Kitchener Today, and StartUp Talk. In 2020, O’Brien was selected as a finalist for Hamilton Chamber of Commerce’s Outstanding Business Award.
