Charlene Rumbolt is an Inuit artist in Mary’s Harbour, Labrador. She is the owner of Great Caribou Studio, where she practices her craft and sells traditional Indigenous art. Charlene’s goal is to represent her art and educate others about her culture. In addition to marketing her work, Charlene’s shop also sells pieces from other Indigenous artists and artisans. Since opening in October 2018, Charlene’s business has expanded to include a cafe for customers. In 2021, Charlene was recognized as the Resilient Entrepreneur of the Year by Ulnooweg, a non-profit organization dedicated to Indigenous business people. Great Caribou Studio is also listed in the Native Women’s Association of Canada’s #BeTheDrum Indigenous Women’s Business Directory.
