In 2022, Canadian Immigrant Magazine named aerospace engineer Damineh Akhavan amongst Canada’s Top 25 Immigrants. Damineh is a Senior Engineer at De Havilland Aircraft of Canada with over 18 years of experience in the technical industry. Accomplished and skilled in her field, she is also the co-founder and co-CEO of Global Women in STEM, a women-owned company that promotes women’s opportunities in STEM. Together with her co-founder Anja Lanz, Damineh passionately advocates for women and equity-deserving groups, striving to challenge the status quo in STEM. Her company engages in education, innovation, advocacy, and action. Damineh is a champion for women in engineering and business, holding an engineering degree and an MBA from the University of Victoria.
